Government of Ontario Invests $1 Million in Petro Sep’s™ Licensee

3Oakville, Ontario, May 23, 2008 – Member of Provincial Parliament Kevin Flynn of Oakville announced that the Government of Ontario was investing $1 million in Petro Sep’s™ North American licensee. The investment is from the Ministry of Research and Innovation as part of its Innovation Demonstration Fund. “We are very excited about this project and the people of Oakville are very proud that a technology developed right here is helping Ontario to be recognized as a world leader in clean technology” said Mr. Flynn. The government invested in seven projects in the latest round of IDF funding. Among the select group of companies and technologies chosen were 3M Canada, and, Petro Sep’s licensee, KmX Corporation. The funds will be directed toward the operation of a plant showcasing Petro Sep’s patented AZEO-SEP™ (PERVAPORATION & VAPOUR PERMEATION)membrane system. In its own press release issued today the Ministry of Research and Innovation stated that KmX will “…operate a demonstration plant to build international commercial interest in a new technology that recycles harmful industrial chemicals instead of disposing of them. This reduces the impact on the environment while reducing disposal costs for industry.” Fakhir Baig, President of Petro Sep, said “We’re delighted that the government of Ontario is supporting our world leading clean tech solutions. This is a great honor for us and we’d like to thank the Ministry of Research and Innovation for recognizing and endorsing our clean technologies.”

Petro Sep™ and University of Ottawa Selected for World Leading Nanotechnology Research

Ottawa, ON – June 9, 2008 – Ontario’s Ministry of Environment has approved a world leading nanotechnology research initiative between the University of Ottawa and Petro Sep™. This initiative involves the dev

elopment of a new Nano membrane that has never been attempted before. If the research proves successful, these new nano membranes will have a higher flux and separation factor and performance than any other ultra-filtration or Nano filtration membranes currently available.

Dr. Takeshi Matsuura, one of the world’s foremost membrane scientists and an advisor to Petro Sep™, will be supervising this research project. Dr. Matsuura is a retired professor of membrane science from the University of Ottawa. Petro Sep™ President and CEO, FakhirBaig, stated “We’re extremely pleased to be working with MOE and U Ottawa on this cutting edge initiative. If this research is successful, it will be a great breakthrough for the environment and industry.” Future applications for this research include higher efficiencies in the desalination of sea water, removal of toxic chemicals (commonly known as VOCs) from water, and, the separation of carbon dioxide from natural gas. The Nano membrane research project is expected to conclude in June of 2011.

4 Political Leaders Visit Petro Sep™ in 4 Months!

4The value and importance of Petro Sep’s clean tech solutions can be gauged by the interest that they have generated in political circles in Canada. Over a span of four months, four prominent political leaders – Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty; Minister of Research and Innovation John Wilkinson; Oakville Mayor Rob Burton; MPP Kevin Flynn – have all come to Petro Sep to see our world leading technologies for themselves.

On January 15, 2008 Minister Wilkinson announced that Petro Sep’s™ North American licensee,KmX Corporation, has been accorded the prestigious designation of “Technology Partner” with the Government of Ontario. The process of becoming a technology partner according to Minister Wilkinson is “very grueling” adding that Petro Sep’s technology was peer reviewed for science excellence. The importance of this milestone was emphasized by the Minister when he said, “Through the science and through your business model, I think it’s a testament to the value of your company that the province of Ontario wants to be a partner.”

Less than a month later, Premier Dalton McGuinty, visited Petro Sep on February 12, 2008. The Mayor of Oakville, Rob Burton, was also on hand for the occasion. Both Premier McGuinty and Mayor Burton were given an extensive tour of Petro Sep’s Oakville plant and their reaction was unequivocally enthusiastic. “There’s a great Canadian story here to be told” said Premier McGuinty.

Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn, who is also the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of the Environment, paid a visit to Petro Sep on April 11, 2008. After his visit, Mr. Flynn suggested that Petro Sep be featured as the `business of the month’ in his constituency newsletter.
