Petro Sep designed, fabricated, and deployed a mobile AQUA-SEP® vacuum membrane distillation skid for hazardous water treatment in Rhode Island. Containerized, road-transportable, and validated on real feed before scale-up.

Why a mobile AQUA-SEP® for this site
The operator needed a hazardous-water solution that could be deployed at the site without a multi-year civil-works program. AQUA-SEP®, packaged inside an ISO container, sized at 150,000 L/day, dropped onto a prepared pad and ran. No site-specific structural steel. No on-site fabrication. The full train (membrane modules, vacuum train, heat-recovery loop, controls, instrumentation) shipped from our Toronto shop fully assembled and factory-tested.

Fabrication and deployment
Engineering and detailed design at Toronto, with feed characterization run in our Canadian Labs ahead of detailed design. Fabrication and factory acceptance testing in-house. Containerization (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation in one ISO unit) at the shop. Site delivery, hookup to feed and discharge, electrical tie-in, and SAT all completed in weeks rather than months.

Outcomes
150,000 L/day of hazardous water treatment delivered without permanent civil works at the host site. The mobile-skid model has since informed Petro Sep's approach to other rapid-deployment projects: package the full train, validate at the shop, ship containerized, commission in days.
